At first, it was thought that he had Swimmer’s Syndrome, but after seeing a neurologist, he was diagnosed with a possible spinal fracture, or possibly a condition he was born with. Milo is unable to move his back legs and has no sensation at all. However, we were able to see some muscular responses when he was guided through a walking motion. Our vet recommended Imogen Theracare, and from that point on, we were all committed to giving Milo the best possible chance of achieving a “spinal walk.” This meant helping his muscles respond to a walking gait, even though there was no neurological feeling. Over the following months, we tried various therapies including exercises, electromagnetic pulse therapy, laser therapy, and hydrotherapy. Eventually, we made the difficult decision to stop his therapy. We did not feel it was making a significant difference, and most importantly, Milo seemed happiest just as he is. He knows no other way of life, and we began to feel that the therapy was becoming too much for him. Although we are sad to stop therapy, we truly believe this decision is in Milo’s best interest. We will miss everyone at Imogen Theracare very much and will always be grateful for the care, support, and commitment they showed us throughout our journey. I cannot praise Imogen and her team enough. From the very beginning, I felt fully supported. Imogen has been kind, professional, dedicated, knowledgeable, and always willing to seek advice from other professionals in order to do the very best for Milo. I honestly can’t thank Imogen and the team enough for everything they’ve done for me and my little dachshund, Bibi. After Bibi had emergency surgery, I was so worried about her recovery, but the care and support we’ve received has been incredible. The girls have gone above and beyond to get her back on her feet and now she’s walking confidently again and getting her strength back. We’ve been doing laser therapy and hydro, and the difference it’s made is amazing. They are so knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely care about every dog that comes through their doors, Bibi actually gets excited to visit! They’ve also been so adaptable and supportive throughout the whole journey, which has meant the world to me, my mum and Bibi. Imogen and Lydia helped our 9 year old rescue Saluki with his joints. He started with Hydrotherapy initially and then had massage, laser therapy and physio. They were very kind and patient with our nervous boy, who was chilled out and relaxed after a few visits. Was thinking his time had come ! His back legs were at 90% angles sometimea and he was 4 inches shorter. Took him to Imogen’s for hydrotherapy. She said laser would be more beneficial. She said he was so tense and in so much pain in his back that was why his back legs were so bad. She put a microphone type thing on him and put him on a mat. I was very sceptical ! But the change has been phenonemal. He runs about in short spurts, wants to go back in the car again, excited about the local pub again. He’s so much happier. I honestly had no idea he was in so much pain prior. He’s been going about 6 months. 2 - 4 sessions a month. I missed a couple and it was staggering how bad he went downhill. Worth every penny. I honestly can’t recommend Imogen enough! We’ve been going to hydrotherapy for over a year now to help with my Frenchie’s hip dysplasia, and the difference has been amazing. Bear absolutely loves his sessions—even though Imogen definitely makes him work for it! She always tailors everything to his needs, which gives me so much confidence. He also has the occasional massage and laser treatments, which he really enjoys, and of course, the lovely treats at the end are always a big hit (perfect for all kinds of dogs!). We have been taking Our Sheltie to Imogen and Lydia for the past 6 months before and after Blossoms hip and knee operation in Nov 25, the girls are truly amazing, very patience and so knowledgeable in their profession, our Bloss has and still is having Lazer and hydro therepy and the progress she has made in the last few months is truly amazing. I can’t recommend Imogen’s Canine Theracare highly enough. My dog Rubble is quite a nervous dog and was especially scared of water, so I was a little worried about how he would cope at first. However, the team here have been absolutely amazing with him. Imogen is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and clearly very passionate about what she does. She took the time to understand Rubble and work at his pace, making sure he felt safe and comfortable throughout his visits. Rubble has been receiving massage therapy also alongside his hydrotherapy which has been fantastic for helping him relax & distribute his weight evenly on all 4 paws. It has also really helped to build his confidence with the staff, and it’s been lovely to see him becoming more comfortable each time he goes. The care, kindness, and professionalism shown here really stand out. We have an English Mastiff called Rebel with back and joint issues and needed a therapist to help him with his mobility. We were recommended to Imogen by our vet and took Rebel to see her last summer. The care and attention to detail from Imogen and her team was superb and now we go every week to do hydrotherapy. Rebel absolutely loves it and he can't wait to see his friends and get into the tank for his therapy. He is 10 years+ but is now like a puppy again! I would highly recommend anyone who has a dog or cat with mobility issues to give Imogen a call. It's changed Rebels life and we are so pleased with his progress. I couldn’t recommend Imogen and Lydia enough if you’re looking to support your dog’s healing and recovery! Murphy has been having physio and laser therapy before and hydrotherapy after his TPLO surgery. Before starting with them, he was struggling but the difference now is incredible. He’s healing well, getting stronger every day, and best of all, his cheeky personality is coming back! Imogen and Lydia are patient, kind, and extremely knowledgeable. They take the time to explain everything clearly, involve you in the rehab plan, and make sure you know what to do at home in between sessions. Murphy is always treated gently and positively, and he genuinely enjoys going despite all the barking, he trots in happily and comes out stronger and absolutely shattered from a good session! The premises are spotless, the atmosphere is calm and welcoming, and parking on the street outside is easy. There are treats and liver paste a plenty, and it’s obvious that they truly love what they do. Five stars from a very happy and reassured owner.
